SUMMARY:The Queens Cartoonists at the Craterian
DESCRIPTION:Pulling from over 100 years of animation from around the world\, The Queen’s Cartoonists bring animated films to life\, perfectly synchronizing their performances with the films projected on stage. The band matches the energy of the cartoons\, leading the audience through a world of virtuosic musicianship and multi-instrumental mayhem\, while breathing new life into two uniquely American forms of art: jazz and animation. Tying everything together is the TQC brand of comedy—anecdotes about the cartoons and their composers\, stream-of-consciousness humor\, and elements of a musical circus.

SUMMARY:Seals & Crofts 2 at the Craterian Theater
DESCRIPTION:For Brady Seals and Lua Crofts\, musical magic is all in the family. Brady’s cousin is Jimmy Seals and Lua is the daughter of Dash Crofts. Together they are Seals & Crofts 2\, bringing a repertoire of  songs artfully reimagined\, but with a reverent nod to the past. Brady\, Lua and the band perform the classics of the iconic ‘70s-’80s soft-rock duo Seals & Crofts\, including: “Summer Breeze\,” “Get Closer\,” “Diamond Girl\,” and “We May Never Pass This Way (Again).” Brady co-wrote three consecutive No. 1 songs for his band Little Texas\, (“What Might Have Been\,” “God Blessed Texas” and “My Love”)\, and Lua made her recording debut at the age of seven\, singing with her parents on a children’s album. Don’t miss this dynamic duo as they remind everyone just how special the Seals & Crofts catalog really is.

SUMMARY:The Glenn Miller Orchestra at The Craterian
DESCRIPTION:Uniquely arranged around a clarinet and tenor saxophone playing melody\, and three other saxophones playing harmony\, The Glenn Miller Orchestra was formed in 1938. The band became the most popular and commercially successful dance orchestra of the swing era and one of the greatest singles-charting acts of the 20th century. Tragically\, Glenn Miller’s legendary career was cut short when his plane disappeared in 1944 at the height of his success. By popular demand\, the Miller Estate formed the present Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1956\, and now\, over 60 years later\, both the legend and the music live on. Just as it was in Glenn’s day\, the Glenn Miller Orchestra today is still the most sought after big band in the world\, playing an average of 200 live dates a year.

SUMMARY:Teen Musical Theater of Oregon presents HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nSaturday\, March 8 – 7:30pm\nSunday\, March 9 – 3:00pm\nFriday\, March 14 – 7:30pm\nSaturday\, March 15 – 3:00pm\nSunday\, March 16 – 3:00pm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented by: Teen Musical Theater of Oregon \n\n\n\n\n\n\nHadestown: Teen Edition is a full-length adaptation of the acclaimed musical by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell. Winner of eight Tony Awards and modified for family audiences\, this intriguing and beautiful folk musical delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience. Hadestown follows two intertwining mythic love stories—that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice\, and that of immortal King Hades and Lady Persephone. Inspired by traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz\, Mitchell’s beguiling musical pits industry against nature\, doubt against faith\, and fear against love. Hadestown: Teen Edition by TMTO will invite audiences on an unforgettable journey to the underworld and back\, challenging us to think about how the world could be. \nThe Teen Musical Theater of Oregon (TMTO) is the youth theater program of Craterian Performances. TMTO shows are professionally-staged\, large-scale and high-energy productions that are fun for the whole family. When you attend a TMTO show\, you’ll be giving these talented young people the audience they deserve\, and you’ll be getting one of the best entertainment values in Southern Oregon.

SUMMARY:Acoustic Groove Experience by Cage Free Concerts
DESCRIPTION:Following text from https://cagefreeconcerts.com/up-coming-events \nFinally\, – in the Spirit of Cage-Freedom – We host Bass Guitar Master\, Michael Manring https://manthing.com/home with Jarrod Kaplan\, percussion and Tony Kaltenberg\, guitar\, AKA The Acoustic Groove Experience\, a “Power trio for the 21st century” \nWhat do Tony K\, Michael Manring\, and Jarrod Kaplan have in common? Besides being way less attractive than Shakira\, they all stand out as exceptional innovators of their hand craft at a time when so much blends into  the realm of formula and in-distinction.  They have been collaborating on stage and in the studio for the past decade and continue to create absolutely stunning instrumental music that moves the body\, mind and soul in equal measure.  The band can best be described as an acoustically influenced effervescent power trio for the 21st century. Their new CD\, The Thread of Joy\, is out now and is receiving great reviews. \nHailed by many as the world’s leading solo bassist\, Michael Manring has been pushing back the boundaries of what’s possible on the bass guitar for over four decades. He has honed his skills on hundreds of recordings as a session musician and thousands of concerts throughout the world. Always adventurous\, Michael has worked with a surprisingly diverse collection of musicians from New Age keyboardist Suzanne Ciani to avant-improv guitar innovator Henry Kaiser to celebrated folk troubadour John Gorka to electro-pop pioneer Thomas Dolby.  His long-term collaboration and close friendship with the late acoustic guitar genius Michael Hedges led to a lengthy stint as house bassist for Windham Hill Records; a label for which he also worked as a solo artist. He has garnered two Gold Records\, Grammy and Bammie nominations\, a Berklee School of Music Distinguished Alumni Award and numerous Bass Player Magazine Reader’s Poll Awards including 1994 Bassist of the Year. “Forget his astounding technique\, musicality and absolute command of his instruments; …The enlightenment comes most from feeling the joy Michael feels to be playing…his brand of transcendental chops and musical understanding…is all in the service of the final outcome\, the joy of making music.” (Tom Darter\, Keyboard Magazine).

SUMMARY:Hildaland by Cage Free Concerts
DESCRIPTION:Hildaland (Hildaland) play an intimate livingroom concert here at Laughing Lady Farm…. Orkney (Scotland) born fiddler Louise Bichan and Indiana (USA) mandolinist Ethan Setiawan present a collaboration and meeting of their musical worlds. A path steeped in the fiddle traditions of their respective sides of the Atlantic\, the journey taken wends through Scottish\, oldtime\, and Swedish inspired music intertwined with contemporary compositions. Bichan’s fiddle is a melodic foil to Setiawan’s counterpoint and harmonic depth\, and the two weave in and out seamlessly.” \nReservations required.
