ASHLAND, OR — In its second year Earth Day A Street Block Party is getting bigger and louder! This free, family-friendly event transforms Ashland’s A Street corridor (between 2nd and 5thStreets) into a vibrant hub of environmental education, local artisans, live music, and community connection. It is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, between 5 and 7:30PM.
“This event is about moving from awareness to action and about bringing community together,” says Karolina Lavagnino of Wild Thyme Productions. “In partnership with our sponsor KS Wild, and with grant support from City of Ashland we’re bringing together nonprofits, local businesses, families, and outdoor enthusiasts to celebrate our shared commitment to protecting the environment while supporting our local economy and building community connections.”
LIVE MUSIC THROUGHOUT A STREET
Multiple stages will feature diverse musical acts:
LOCAL FOOD & BEVERAGES
Food trucks including Tacos Libertad, Eat Pistola’s, and The Allium Wood Fired Pizza will serve throughout the evening. A street-based eateries and restaurants including Tlalli, Slow Burn BBQ now at La Baguette Café, Masala, and other will be open to welcome hungry crowds. The Brickroom presents a Beer Garden featuring craft beverages, while Resistance Wine Co. and Circadian Cellars will be joining us with their selection of wines. Local artisan food makers, craft vendors, and vintage/upcycled clothing booths will showcase sustainable, locally-made products that support both environmental values and the local economy. (example: Love Sweater Thrift & Vintage)
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION & ENGAGEMENT
A dozen conservation-focused nonprofits—including organizations dedicated to trail work, watershed protection, environmental action, and land management—will share their work and inspire community involvement. Hands-on educational activities make environmental stewardship accessible and fun for all ages!
GET OUTSIDE & GET ACTIVE
Local outdoor recreation groups will be on hand to encourage community members to explore Southern Oregon’s incredible outdoor resources.
BIKE TO THE EVENT
In partnership with Piccadilly Cycles, free bike valet service will be available throughout the event, making it easy and convenient for attendees to arrive car-free and reduce their carbon footprint.
