Rogue Flavor Showcase

September 5 @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The Rogue Valley Food System Network proudly announces the inaugural Rogue Flavor
Showcase — a celebration of Southern Oregon’s remarkable food and agricultural identity,
taking place from 2 to 7PM on the grounds of the historic Bigham Knoll campus in Jacksonville.
Part culinary festival, part agricultural fair, part community gathering, the Showcase is an
invitation to taste, sip, discover, learn, and connect with the people and the land that make this
region unlike anywhere else on earth.
“Our food is a great expression of place”; said Alison Hensley Sexauer of the Rogue Valley Food
System Network. “You taste the terroir in our wines, our cheeses, our pears. You experience it in
a ferment crafted from vegetables grown just down the road. The Rogue Flavor Showcase is a
chance for all of us — residents and visitors alike — to slow down, pay attention, and truly savor
what we have here.”
The Showcase brings together an extraordinary and growing lineup of Southern Oregon’s finest
makers, representing every corner of the valley’s food and drink culture. Rogue Creamery —
whose blue cheese has earned world championship recognition — joins Mama Terra Micro
Creamery from the Applegate Valley, bringing the art of small-batch, terroir-driven
cheesemaking to the table from two distinct corners of the region. Troon Vineyards, farming
the Applegate biodynamically for decades, pours alongside Circadian Cellars and her bold,
expressive wines, and Arpeggio Vineyard — adding yet another voice to Southern Oregon’s
remarkable and diverse wine story.
This isn’t a farmers market. The inaugural Rogue Flavor Showcase is a gathering of the full
ecosystem of people who make this valley delicious. It’s a celebration of those who grow, raise,
ferment, bake, brew, and create the foods and beverages that make this region extraordinary.

On the Culinary Stage, local chefs will demonstrate the art of cooking with the valleys seasonal
harvest. Chef Stacey Givens of Side Yard Farm & Kitchen brings her seed-to-plate philosophy
directly from her farm. Chef Carl Krause of Wilder Cooking — known for what his collaborators
call  — transforms whatever the valley offers into something delicious. Two
other chefs include Kristen Lyon of Jefferson Farm Kitchen and Chef Dee of Gourmet
Vegetarian.
Beyond the tasting and the cooking demonstrations, the Showcase offers something rarer: the
chance to learn. Two educational sessions bring depth and meaning to the afternoon.
Food trucks Pistolas featuring locally made sausages, Grip n Grub, Slow Burn BBQ, and the
Farm Bus Bistro, round out a day that is as much feast as festival.
Wander through a vibrant collection of local farms, food artisans, food trucks, and beverage
makers. Taste what this valley can do — and meet the people who make it happen.
The Showcase also features the Rogue Flavor Industry Exchange from 12:30 to 1:30PM — an
RSVP-only session bringing together farmers, artisan makers, chefs, restaurant owners,
distributors, and institutional buyers for intentional conversations about sourcing relationships,
local food partnerships, and the future of the regional food economy.
Event tickets are $20, including a commemorative glass. Children 12 and under are free.
