Market of Choice
Deep roots in Oregon
The seeds were planted decades ago when the Wright family made its home in Medford, where today’s CEO of Market of Choice grew up running through local orchards. These fond memories even inspired the grocer’s iconic pear logo. The family-owned, independent grocer is rooted in Oregon’s vibrant food ecosystem and is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year thanks in part to its strong relationships with local food producers. “Bringing our stores to rural communities like Ashland and Medford is about more than providing quality food choices; it’s about supporting the local economy, creating a joyful experience, and enhancing the overall vitality of these areas,” says Market of Choice CEO Rick Wright. By fostering strong relationships with local producers, Market of Choice ensures its customers receive the freshest and most unique products available. In fact, across the 11 Market of Choice stores in the state, each carries an average of 6,000 products made in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.
Two of those products hail from Southern Oregon—Joey’s Hot Sauce and Killer Keto Snacks. Joey’s Hot Sauce was born out of a desire for a clean, flavorful condiment, after Joey’s wife noticed that most hot sauces on the market were filled with artificial ingredients and sugars. Meanwhile, Angie Farynnyk, with her background in natural medicine and holistic nutrition, created Killer Keto Snacks, grain-free, low-carb, seed-based snack crackers that are popular among health-conscious consumers.
Shopping at your local Market of Choice supports local farmers, ranchers, and producers and keeps your money in Oregon, ensuring a sustainable food system for generations to come.
